Eva Amurri Martino shares her finished renovations at her home in Connecticut

Our renovation is finally done, and we have moved in to our new home! Of course the home is not new at all, but very very old– it was built in the mid 19th century and has the greatest energy.  We wanted to update a lot of aspects of the home, and make it ideal for a young family to live in.  The process was arduous– and costly– but ultimately we have truly created our dream home, and I feel so beyond grateful.  There is still a lot of finishing touches to do, and lots of decor to install– but the renovation aspect of the home is basically complete! This week and next week a lot of the wallpaper will be going up.  And if you follow this blog at all, you know how much I LOVE wallpaper!

I just can’t believe how completely different the house looks, while still maintaining its historic charm.  We lightened and brightened every aspect of the interior, and knocked walls down to create more space– and all of it has totally payed off.  The home looks twice as big as it did when we bought it! The floors especially are such a huge difference from before. We wanted a whitewashed, beachy vibe and it’s even better than how I imagined.  I can’t wait to start decorating and making the whole vision complete!

Since a lot of our decor was either custom, special order, or back-ordered, we are going to be waiting a while for rooms to be complete.  I wanted to give you guys a heads up that I most likely won’t be rolling out my room reveals until June.  But I promise it will be so worth it! Until then, make sure to follow me on social media, as you’re sure to catch some sneak peeks along the way.

There will be more in depth posts on design forthcoming, but I wanted to give a huge shout out and thanks to Prudence Bailey and O Living for knocking it out of the park and creating such a magical space for our family.  I’m still pinching myself!

I also wanted to thank my little mini cohost of this latest and final video renovation tour.  She was very excited to show you guys her new house!

Hi Eva I’ve been trying to reach you for some time to see why I’ve been removed from your Instagram. I’m not sure why and I’d love to be added back. I really enjoy what you do and have been going through my own renovation so it is particularly fun for me to read about your experience. Can you please add me back? My Instagram is dvdwife. Thank you and lots of luck and love in your new home!!!

    • My husband went to high school with our contractor, who happens to be a really popular contractor in Fairfield county. He is GREAT and the workers he uses are the best of the best! I met Prudence through my friend Julia of Lemonstripes.com. We hung out socially first, then I met with her about the house!
